Worse bus strikes again.

I'm on my last duty before my official summer break starts for two weeks. Two things wrong with this picture. Firstly the first bus parked on the 216 stand because the driver wanted some money and also the engine cover is up on this bendy bus. I am working 4 out of my 14 days off although not sure what days yet. Just a shame my bike can't come a bit sooner. On another note i'm told the x61 is being withdrawn in october and replaced with nothing.

  1. Imagine if that Bendybus broke down the same time during the week, it would have created havoc round there, good job it happened on a Saturday morning

  2. I've heard of beggars on the bus...but never actually the drivers begging as well lol

are they getting too desperate know or something? If First tread on SC territory, and vice versa, I would expect a load off new 'MagicBus' routes in the north manchester hee hee

  3. Seeing a bendy bus with the engine cover up reminds me of the Tom Jones classic, It's not Unusual LOL

  6. Is there an arrangement between Stagecoach, First and the Independents between access there or something?...would make sense to expand on the garden station, or use shudehill, op a new station by Piccadilly train station...rather than a single road. Just a thought.

Wait, that's an idea...how come Shudehill see very minimal Stagecoach services (excluding Megabus and the blackpool coach)

  7. I hate Shudehill. I think its more depressing than Oldham bus station. We dont use it much coz its not on our side of town. If you ran a bus to Ashton or Stockport from there it would probably be running late before it hit Great ancoats Street.

  8. glad stotts got the 353/54 services

went on first devon and cornwall open topper service 300 and the drivers where really polite

and you know the darts used on the 350 well I saw one like it which is just 4 years old down near Helston

any news on the second speedwell bus due and I guess they will get rid of the R501 to 14 YWC that they have

  9. Not yet Mic, apparently it's an 07 reg version from the Midlans, but chances are it's getting painted and launched in time for the full s48 launch. I doubt that the removal of one route would srap 14 buses though lol

I went on the enviro 300 this morning though, and it is a very nice bus, and the other buses aren't bad either, considering the oldest are the marshall darts.

I had gone for my hair cut and used the 350 and it was a misable driver

the Marshall buses will be use on the S48

  11. yes it was, due to the transbus pointer breaking down, I had seen it having start up issues in Ashton station...still an excel is not a bad cover bus though.

  12. the 2 excels are great buses and V256 BNV not seen that for a bit

  13. The Optare Excels are pretty good, except the P reg is ok but has no Disabled/Pram zones, and the oddest seat layout I've ever seen.

V256BNV is now commonly used on the 394 because of its nimble turning circle, but I've seen it on sunday & evening service S50 now and again

  14. You'll have to start getting used to using Shude Hill because the 217/218 is switching to there soon!

A third thing wrong in your photo - a private car driving where no private car should be!

  15. I wonder how first will react when the full S48 starts should be great

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well, First doesn't seem to have reacted at all to the S50, so I wouldn't hold your breath!

  17. should be interesting with the S48. The S50 doesn't go to Oldham or the Hospital...whereas the S48 is an exact duplicate and in full competition with the 348...also, it will possibly give the 236/7 a run with a higher frequency and lower fares

  18. stagecoach buses seem to run to time anyway

the 350 can get caught up at rush hour trying to get out of the hospital as cars are coming out of the car park

saw speedwell R269 XDA on the 239 yestaday

I do not think S50 will go to Oldham as they do the 343 as it is in the week and it is good to have a speedwell leaving hey farm at 5 mins past the hour as the 350 at 6 mins past comes from Oldham
what puzzles me is that Dukinfield interwork the 350 with the 183 in the Oldham area I would have though Oldham depot could do the 183
