Going home

My 18 day work marathon is over finally. On a short day today and i'm not back in now until monday at 1pm. Just sat on the taxi bus to depot which today is the corrie bus. Off out today for a few well deserved beers later too. Have also noticed the recent size issue thats going on at stagecoach has hit the manchester evening news today.

Just had a read of this news item on the MEN website and very much doubt that Stagecoach is implementing this rule change to protect the health and welfare of its staff. We live in a compensation culture and it is simply protecting its own back. If a fatty driver suffered an accident while driving because their seat gave way, I'm sure they'd be first in line to make a personal injury claim against their employer for a dereliction of duty of care.

As an afterthought, I think I am correct in saying that there's always been a long-standing 'size issue' of a different variety in place when appointing to inspector posts. Don't you have to be a little pr*ck?

  3. I ave not read the article as yet as i'm a bit fed up of hearing about it at work. It's a shame realy that its all happened the way it has. The drivers who have been sent for medicals have all come forward to admit there weight issue. What about the ones who may think they are ok or have a complex issue regarding it. These people will be called in and told they are being sent for a medical to see if they are fit to drive!! Then the fun will start. A lot of these people were taken on over this weight how can they justify telling them now its wrong to be driving a bus when a doctor cleared them for work at there medical.
