Basic model

This is the cab of an Enviro 400. Very basic. Nowhere near as nice as the Scania or even the newer model Enviro like the ones jpt has. This one (19104) is like a bullet. Very powerful bus. Just in stockport on a 330. Got loads of time on that trip but no traffic at 7am. I have a long day today with 5 hours on a 217 then 2 more trips on here.

  1. Oldham - since Winter is on its way, run us through what happens with the heating and/or air conditioning for us poor passengers on these buses? Sometimes it's nice and warm and other times it's non-existant. Cheers.

  2. Usually I find with Ashton depot Enviro 400s which I catch on the 330 in the morning, the heating usually works downstairs but not upstairs, if not it doesn't work at all. Very rare that it works upstairs too. Then I get on a Hyde Road depot bus on the 201, and it's usually nice and toasty upstairs and downstairs.

Unfortunately, I find that Ashton depot buses are colder, dirtier and break down more often than buses from other Stagecoach Manchester depots. Well driven though, especially if it's Oldham 100 at the wheel

Saw you yesterday I think, on the 389 at Hyde Bus Station at around 08:20-08:30.

  3. The hyde road buses are newer so the chances are the heating still works as per manufactured. The ashton buses are older because of the stupid adblu situation. The buses we have do look tired and worn now and this is why the Enviro buses have started being painted and possibly even re-covered. Don't know yet i have not seen one finished. Anyway, the heating system is not a requirement of a mot test so it's low priority and is prone to being knocked together in a quick repair. There is no saloon heat control with the driver it's done by engineering. The buses are serviced every 4 weeks. When it comes to the september service all the heaters should be turned back on for the winter. It takes time to service them all hence the delay. I think they should all be done by now. If not then there must be a fault with the thermostat which i never notice because i don't sit in the back. It would be easier if we had control but the company turns them all off in the summer to save pennies. Sorry mb wasn't on 389 yesterday lol. Hope this helps. I hope they are all on anyway. The man buses are horrid when it gets to minus degrees.

  6. 820 is just the running board number. Running board tells you where that bus should be and duty changes. Legal requirment.

  7. Imagine building a multi-million pound bus depot that isn't as modern as the other bus depots in the city. (Re: the ad-blu situation)

Also, there must be an imposter going about who looks like you, I've seen him twice now lol!

  8. what i found most amusing about the basic enviros was the lcd display screen, the big picture of the bus gives you no information whatsoever, apart from the profile of the bus your driving, which is useless lol
