Nice and peaceful
Just on the way to work on a very fresh and early sunday morning. I was off yesterday good job too, had a nasty bug which ment i wasn't feeling my very best but such to get better now. Normally sunday duties are a bit of a choare and pretty long but this on today is nice and simple. stalybridge to town and back twice on a 217 218 followed by a single trip on a 216. All the stands change tomorrow in town due to oldham street being shut. All our buses are coming into town via piccadilly station and stopping at the 76 stand on lever street. This is for about 6 weeks. Personally i think everything will run better but we will see. Update! Just come through 4 way lights at droylsden and 4 way lights at edge lane. Not too bad at the moment but god help up later on when the tesco faithful arrive! Wish i stayed in bed lol.

Sure I saw you driving a 217 at Boyds Walk at 8:36, about 6 minutes later than you should have been there. Disgrace!
ReplyDeleteYes i noticed you loitering around boyds walk. Was a little late but nothing worth worrying about. Had to change my bus.
ReplyDeleteDroylsden will be a nightmere next week. Ive just heard that Littlemoss rd will be shut completly for a week for major roadworks. I know its not your depot but any idea's how the 168/169 and 231's will run?
ReplyDeleteI not seen anything about littlemoss road being shut. Nothing on the website either so i can only assume its misinformed info or it doesnt affect the part of littlemoss road we use? I know Stamford road in Audenshaw is shut for the next 2 weekends meaning the 217/8 will be using guide bridge instead of going past the boys school. Only a weekend thing though.
ReplyDeleteNo its correct info. Was on the 231 earlier today and theres big yellow signs saying the road will be shut for the halfterm week from 9am till 4.30pm. Checked the website myself and also Tameside's website but like you say no info as yet.
ReplyDeleteTameside probably kmow the road is to be shut, but thee one department in the know has not told the one which maintains the website or any other for that matter, they are so incompetent.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked to see the signs myself today. They wernt there on Friday. They will probably publiciseit this week but im guessing for people that use the the 168/169 or 231 and live more towards Daisy nook we are going to have to travel into Ashton then down Manchester road. What a nightmere
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that if this does happen that a bus will run to littlemoss terminus from the ashton side. It's bit of a long way round for the residents though without any advance warning. The buses will have to use manchester road then turn right onto market street upto medlock street then down sunnyside road. Very odd this hasn't been mentioned sooner. I will enquire tomorrow.
