Vile weather

Just started. I'm on the 392 which i have not done for about 12 months now. It's all the way to glossop empty. One trip to gamesley and back them empty to gee cross. I'm sure we must get a lot of money to come and run this one trip as i think about 3 people get on. The weather now is horrid. It's blowing a gale and it's very very wet. Can't complain though because it's shifting the snow. One trip on a 330 for the second part so nice easy day really.

  2. Just as a matter of interest, the bus doesn't to be very busy at times.
Would you class it as profitable? or would you like to have money in the company.
I live in a city of 700,000 and the bus's seem to run empty most of the time. The city is sprawling but most people drive as it is more convenient.I can't see public transport breaking even let alone making a profit. Our transit is owned by the city.

  3. Gaz it was blowing cold lol. These routes are run with subsidies. Today i drove all the way to glossop to do a 20 minute journey then drove all the way back to gee cross to pick one person up who paid 1.30. as long as my wage bill and the price of fuel and tax for the hour is covered then it's worth it. I'm sure if it wasn't then we wouldn't do it.

It just goes to show how much taxpayers money is waisted on tendered services, espcially at weekend.

  5. Indeed. But as long as that one person gets on it will carry on.

  7. There are a few sites mentioning the fact the fleet list has gone. If enough people use the customer enquiry email address off the company website, i'm sure it will be sorted. If in the meantime i do find one i will post it. Sorry

I was told that the Fleet list wouldnt get put back on because of the new 'national' lay out and that they have also removed enthuisaist sections from other Stagecoach regions as well. Its a shame really because Stagecoach Manchester always seemed to be intouch with its enthuisiasts.
