Just got into wigan. Nice to see it in the daytime. It's roughly the same size as ashton here. Mainly first bus here with a few arriva and a few south lancs travel knocking about. I'm gonna go for the stagecoach 113 to preston. Then home on the x61 as it's getting a bit cold and damp now.
single decker mans on 231 at tea time whats going on?.Wednesday 4.11.09
ReplyDeleteThats normal. Would just be Littlemoss turn backs on an afternoon running board. Just a filler.
ReplyDeleteThat's not bad...About a month or so ago i got on the 216...t'was the infamous marshall dart...oh that was full, reeeeeally full
ReplyDeleteAs an employee of Stagecoach is your free travel restricted to North West or are allowed free travel in all Stagecoach regions?
ReplyDeleteQuite a few strange things have been happening since Ashton took over. Darts on the 347, the 330, and the 216 of all routes! Enviro 400s on the 345 (when I first saw this I was shocked, now it seems to be a regular occurence), and that time the Solo appeared on the 346 a couple of months back.
ReplyDeleteJust what is going on at Ashton depot?
Lol
the mans single decker on the 231 was seen on st albans ave hurst on normal service
ReplyDeleteI dont mind the marshalls really...quite comfy, I rely on Speedwells S50 which is mostly marshall darts but the drivers do 'brick it' when they drive them on the rain...so im guessing that reliability is an issue
ReplyDeleteAs for the Enviro on the 345. It now does a busy school in the morning so they try to put a big bus on. And i did a 346 in the solo. Was out route learning when a bus broke down so i covered a trip. A dart on the 216 is very poor indeed. It's only down to not enough buses. If a few have faults in the morning during bus checks then we have to swap and change about. We don't have many spares because a bus sat doing nothing is pointless to any bus company.
ReplyDeleteWe can travel around the country with our pass to all regions. Also the chances are we have local agreements with first and arriva to use them too. Oh and the metrolink and supertram and the boats on windermere i believe we run too lol. Man on 231, we don't do them anymore, was transferred to hyde road when we got the 330s although i don't think the 231 needs an Enviro on each trip, it's not busy enough. Once you get passed manor road even in rush hour, the bus is half empty. Mark, we do have a shortage of buses at the moment, especially when it comes to Enviros at ashton. You might have noticed the 2 mans on the 330 at tea time! Basically we all think this is a joke. This is because someone in glossop decided to complain about a full bus at student going home time on the 236/7. Because of this 2 Enviros come off the 330 and go on the glossops and the 330 gets the 2 man buses that have been on there all day. One of these is 1701 out of stockport! Not a nice trip to do on a man bus. Just wait till christmas shopping starts at the peel centre. This will be fun. William, the marshalls are a decent bus to ride on short journeys. It's the cab that lets it down. Just cramped and hard work with the driving position. Poorly thought out.
ReplyDeleteIt just a shame that Ashton Depot cant use any of the buses that Stagecoach have got stored there at the moment as I know there's a couple of double deckers in storage at Ashton Depot at the mo including a couple of ex Maynes Scanias unless they'ved moved elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteIf Ashton could use the stored vehicles every now and again if they are short this could sort out the run-out in the morning and also sort out the problem of MANs being used on peak 330s
