This looks like a stagecoach train. I think we do run some trains round here although i don't know where they go. Odd to see it in our colours. Had such a manic week upto now. Mainly 216 most the week and every trip is guess work as to where the stops will move to next. Am glad i have swapped the next couple of days for late shifts. I think i would have had a breakdown by now if i didn't. Apart from that not much going on in the world of ashton bus life. I'm in now until tuesday usual late on bank holiday monday. So will see how things go.
It's an East Midlands Train, franchise won by Stagecoach and they also run South West Trains, amongst others!
ReplyDeleteI know the trains go towards Norwich through manchester, but I'm not sure where from...possibly Liverpool or Preston. I had to go on one of those to Norwich a few months ago to a uni open day visit, and despite the looks they're surprisingly quick and comfy, despite the 4 hour trip but that included going through sheffield and cambridge lol.
ReplyDeleteWhat is up with these temporary stops for the 216 and others in Droylsden? wouldn't it be easier to work out where there are no planned works along that road and put stops there, rather than change them every week or so? ah well.
I remember a post being put up about a possible takeover bid, or something along that line, is this still running or 'hushed' for now?
It's a good view from up there - just a shame the trains don't pause for a few minutes to let the passengers enjoy it ;>P
ReplyDeleteThe Train is one of East Midlands Trains which until the franchise change used to be Central Trains and painted into a mainly green livery but since the franchise change is now owned by Stagecoach and they run services from Nottingham & Norwich to Liverpool Lime Street via Sheffield, Stockport, Manchester & Warrington
ReplyDeleteTa very much Busman. I thought Liverpool at first but then I thought about Transpennine and Northerns dominance and was unsure...nice little trains though
ReplyDeleteDon't forget Stagecoach own 49% of Virgin Trains too!
ReplyDeleteI have seen 13651 in southwest trains livery
