Nice drive

Just on the back half of my split now. It's 1 and a half trips on the 389. Finish in gee cross and then back private to depot. This is one of the newer mans buses we have received. It's a nice drive, pretty nippy too. We have this and also 22055 which is also a 53 plate. I would like to see the 06 man buses at our depot from stockport they are a very nice drive. From saturday i'm working from princess road for a week doing metrolink replacement which should be a nice change. It's only upto crumpsall but i don't know where from yet though.

  1. Looks nice. Is this is a permanent arrangement now? I really hope to board one of these soon.

Nice to see 22055 and 22056 at Ashton. Makes a welcome change from S, T and X reg MANs that are mostly past their best really. Though I think that the 06 MANs are so brilliant that they'd be considered too good for Ashton lol. I hope I'm wrong. So there's more Metrolinks on the way then? Sounds like it'll be a nice change from Tameside, Glossop and east Manchester.

  6. Why would a 54 plate Man bus be in Storage at Trafford park I heard we had land there for some "unkown" reason but that sort of bus should be in service. Also 27501 the ALx300 was on the 42a this morning first Weekday of the service being run from Princess Road. However she fell ill and had to be towed back.

  8. The 54 plate MAN is one of two currently receiving attention at the MAN dealership at Trafford Park.
The Olympians are being stored in a different part of Trafford Park.

  11. The actual Metrolink works next week are tied in with the extension to Oldham, from what I've read their doing some work on connecting the new Oldham Line to the current Bury Line near the new Depot.

I think replacement buses are going to be running to/from Piccadilly to link up with the tram services there

I am not sure as to whether it is this very MAN photographed above or its sister which I boarded this morning. It was a nice surprise to see a 53 reg MAN on the 346 (0714 journey from Ashton, 8 minutes later from my usual stop).

  13. I do like these MAN ALX300's and I hope to board one sooner than later. The Metrolink works will be getting busier, but a fair point to make is surely pte should consider a bus replacement rail service lol

    Cheers Mic for the observation.

This morning's delight on the 0714 Ashton - Gee Cross 346 was one of the S-reg MANs complete with Clippercard machine still intact.
