Back to work today. Been a pretty boring morning. Went to gym and now i'm waiting for my 347. Got two trips on the magic roundabout then 2 on the 330. This bus on the 347 is new to ashton. It's a single deck scania that used to belong to maynes until we bought them. I believe the other one is coming soon too. I have drove it before on the 172 when i was at hyde road. it's Nothing special from memory.
Any reason why odd buses keep turning up on Ashton routes, these 2 Scanais I thought were meant to be for 7 & 345s although other Darts tend to appear on odd routes such as 217/218s and even 216s from time to time
ReplyDeleteThe scanias are fine for the 347. As for a dart on the 216! I wouldn't like to pull up on piccadilly at 5pm in one of them. The main reason is bus faults in the morning. We only have so many buses to do so many jobs. Every morning we check the bus inside and out. If we find fault it must be repaired before the bus goes out. If it cannot be repaired before the vehicle leaving time then you get another bus. If it's an enviro and there are no spares then you will get a man. If there are no spares you will get whats left. They do try to rectify it through the day but it's not always possible.
ReplyDelete28507, which is the one we have at ashton now is, i think, one of the nicest i've ever driven, i loved it at charles street on the 11's. the other, however, 28506, is an absolute shed and is truely awful to drive, its weird how two identical buses can be so different to drive
ReplyDeleteThe same goes for the mans how can one be a dream to drive then you get another and it's a shed. So odd.
