Lovely View

I'm just heading to glossop to start the first trip on the 390. Couldn't help but stop to look at the valley towards stockport. The mist looks great at this time of day. It's a bit nippy today but this bus is lovely and warm. Got 4 hours on here which should twist my mind somewhat. It's an easy morning but i would have liked something a bit busier. Just a trip on a 346 later and finish for 330pm. Off tomorrow and back in sunday. No gym and no bike this week as i have an injury on my back from last weekends antics! Enough said. Lol.

  4. Is there some roadworks going on in Glossop that are affecting the 236/237?
Normally the 236's coming from Glossop late in the afternoons are always bang on time but all lsat week were over half an hour late.

Ive noticed a few First Solo's in Ashton today with LED displays. Are these the ex Metroshuttle Solo's or have Dukinfield's Solo's finally had re-furbs.

  7. I think they send the taxi bus, or a bus up to Glossop to swap drivers.

Thanks Mic, i only noticed them today, but looked a bit smarter than the normal Dukinfield Junk.

Solo 40329 (ML02 OFY) noted on the 41 on Friday evening and boarded by myself, another one for Dukinfield. Sounded in alright nick, from the inside anyway, and was still decorated internally with Metroshuttle diagrams. Not seen any of the 54s up this end but I haven't been out this weekend. 40316 (X619 OBN) has an LED rear diplay and as such will mingle well with the newer ones when seen from the rear. About half a year ago when I first saw this, I thought we had already got a newer Solo (or one on loan) 'til I got closer!

  10. I saw a 54 plate solo on the 408 the other day. assumed it was an Oldham depot one. Obv not. There are 3 drivers each day on the 390. 1st one takes the solo up the last beings it back. Inbetween the relief driver takes a bus up as taxi and the relieved driver brings it back. And we have had 19013 for a while now. Not sure if its staying though as the radio is not yet tuned to our depot. Also worth noting new System 1 tickets from today, £7 plus one and £9 family any bus all day. Not sure if they are post 9.30 through the week the info sheet doesnt say. Bargain i say. 2 adults 3 kids..

  12. Fleix late last year Dukinfield got 34069 and I manged to have a ride on it and it was the quietest double deck I ever heard till Bury nicked it back again

  13. I think the Olympians Dukinfield had were not bad buses, not as bad as the Arrows.
I would imagine the Solo's will be split between Dukinfield, Queens Road and Bury, replacing some of the older Darts. I didn't think Oldham had any Solos. There certainly in better condition than the Dukinfield ones.
