Not a nice day!

Glad to be home right now. I am totally wiped out from a day on the 216s. It's been a while since i did a full day on there and today was just horrible. The only problem however was getting from Snipe retail to Droylsden. The queue put me 20 minutes late on each trip. I got the time back each time i got to Ashton but lost it again on the next trip. This sign caught my eye whilst i was sat in the traffic. It's a very clear indication of the damage all these works are having on the local businesses. Glad to be home now anyway. My holidays were supposed to start on Sunday but i'm now working a late shift on the metrolink replacement again. Easy money though. The following saturday should be interesting too. The bury line is closed on the 23rd and 24th and i am doing a shift on the saturday. Should be fun.

  1. Ironic that BP is complaining about external influences affecting local business's... How are all of the local businesses in the Louisiana coast doing?

  2. Lets also remember that this is probably a franchise and the person who runs this maybe doesnt actually work for bp. I thought someone would mention the oil leak point lol

  3. Aha! I had to mention it though lol.

I'm still in Edinburgh and their is a dummy tram in the city centre on display, with all of the locals fascinated by it. Wait 'til they visit Manchester and see trams that actually move lol

  6. no is not a dart not as far as I am aware but it puts first buses to shame in Tameside wonder if all the second hand ex stagecoach minibuses will be withdrawn R508 YWC was still running Yestaday

  7. Saw This on the Manchester Transport blog, and feel the need to share it , I don't know Eddie the poster myself, but he made me chuckle! The article is about a new proposed code of conduct for bus companies. Eddies reply made me laugh !

What about South Lancs Transport and Bluebird where the pariah is the driver who DOESN’T have a n IPOD or MP3 player on the go for his/her 11 hour shift.
Seriously, this is a dangerous and sharp practice: the driver should not have one or both ears blocked listening to music whilst peoples lives are in their hands ( no they are NOT having the earplug in their ear” to keep in touch with the depot…”. No ambiguity here, try asking one…” well yer can’t expect me to work 12 hours wiivout me tunes man… I wasn’t allowed to do it at * Stagecoach/First delete as appropriate*.. but I can here and the PTE let us do it even on TENDERED routes, Yo! By the way I’ve no ticket roll just pay me ( well I’ve got to mek up mi wages cos the big operator sacked me for dippin the till and instead of doing 8 hrs a day for ten dabs an hour its 12 hours a day £7.50 an hour ..”
Seriously, thats jhoe the real world runs on Greater Manchester bus operations…

  10. Code of conduct? seems fair. Eddies Reply does make me laugh too.

I have just flickr'd KU 02 YBA and I've discovered its a caetano nimbus bodied dart, fresh from Go North East. I do believe thats a first for Tameside. I know SLT had one, and claimed it was superior to a plaxton when they sold it, but that could be selling talk lol

  11. so now we have 3 white speedwell buses on the S50 and that other one to Glossop service

I though TTZ would have speedwell value fleetnames

  12. Mic i think the Primo that Speedwell used in Glossop has long gone as the norm on the 394 these days is a Marshall Dart and a Solo.
Saw the new Dart today and it does look good.
