Holiday time
I'm off until saturday this week. Just on the 396 heading home from the gym. Had a very easy late shift on the altrincham metrolink service on sunday night. Almost felt guilty about getting paid to do it lol. Only almost i said. Forgot to mention last week. We have started running some night services out of ashton at weekend. I think it's to attract more people into doing it as previously they were all run out of princess road and this put a few people off. I think all depots now run some if there are drivers that wish to stay on after their late shift finishes. Not much else going on in bus land that i know off. Lots going on behind the scenes but will tell you about that in time.

I'll be a bit cheeky, if I may, and plug my blog - it has just been updated with a couple of photos from last weekend's transport museum event "Remembering the Number 9".
ReplyDeleteNot a problem Martin. I noticed a couple of old buses parked up outside park cakes last weekend. Wondered what was going on. You just reminded me. Thanks
ReplyDeletefirstbus are getting new buses for the metro shuttles to be numbered 49101 to 12 and 59001 to 8 59001 is at Manchester depot now so we could see the cast offs at Ashton well at least 10 of them also got the lastest stagecoach list and it says 15381 to 85 are to be scrapped
ReplyDeleteI want to buy a bus , but can't see the neighbours liking it on the grove !
ReplyDeletewhich one the mayne liveried one
ReplyDeleteMic, i wouldn't belive that about 15381 - 15385, why would Stagecoach scrap perfectly good buses???
ReplyDeleteFrom what ive been told once the Dragons come out of service, they along with alot of the withdrawn buses at Glossop/Charles Street and Ashton will be sold in a big batch to Ensign bus sales, so they will all see further service.
Also Mic, Speedwell still have the white Primo that was used in Glossop, as it was being used on the S48 last Sunday.
thanks for that that is good to hear 14239/40 have all ready gone to Ensign
ReplyDelete15184 is all ready withdrawn
ReplyDeleteI bet 15383 will have to be towed it has been at Glossop for about 2 years now
Well it will have to be towed because none are taxed or mot'd, but from what ive heard, fitters have tried to keep alot of the withdrawn vehicles running.
ReplyDeleteI know someone went up to Glossop at least twice a week at one point to keep the buses there ticking over so i would guess there all in good order.
got to hear Firstbus still have a lot of withdrawn buses in store wonder when they will go
ReplyDeleteDont know Mic, although unlike Stagecoach and Arriva, First dont normally sell buses on to outside companies so probably the scrap yard.
ReplyDeleteAnd talking about scrap, them Arrows need scrapping lol.
those arrows at Ashton do need to go have you seen the state of 31954s rear still go a school bus sign on and top window panned over
ReplyDeleteI think those darts of the 40360 batch should go
they have also got 60424 on loan why bring a bus with big steps on low floor routes
I have seen little speedwell MX06 ABO on the evening s50 service I think R510 YWC has gone as not seen it for ages
First South Yorkshire have T reg volvo double decks which I think would be right for Ashton depot
Theres been an old single decker on the 409 today which was odd, but the Arrows are bad.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the Speedwell Mercs, they seem to use the V and T reg ones in Ashton now, although the older R reg ones are still knocking about in Glossop.
the V and T ones are used on the 343 in the week I think they need 3 buses for the route
