This is the view down mossley road. More queues. Today is a very bad day on the roads. 216s next and not looking forward to it. Best go get some pain killers.
I was in this exact spot December 2007. At first glance it looks odd untill you realise that there is a right turn only lane at the traffic light ahead. It's not the best layout for a crossroad but what elsa can you do?
Yes, I get the 216 regularly and have to say that the road works have made this journey a nightmare in recent months. It's now probably easier to travel between Manchester and Ashton using the 219.
I suppose the only benefit of being on the 216 from a driver's perspective is that it must surely be one of the easiest routes to remember.
Regarding the (relatively) new Ashton bus depot, which routes does it service?
7, 216, 217, 218, 231, 236, 237, 346 & 347
But does is it do any others?
Does it do all the 216s or share this route with Hyde Road depot?
Does Ashton depot do any of the 219s?
What about the 168 & 169 - are these services run by Ashton depot?
Also, when the 330s move over to the Ashton depot will Ashton drivers be doing all buses on this route or sharing them with Stockport depot?
Yes the 216 is a farce at the moment with buses being diverted off Grt Ancoats st to come in like a 219 to avoid the road works, even tonight i missed an entire roudn trip because the bus was 57 minutes late into ashton? 57 mins its a joke....
Big question you have there. Mr Anon.
Any is easy to remember as long as you have done it before. 216 us boring coz its a straight line. I personally like the 217-8 something to do although its a shame it aint busy.
we do the about mentioned plus the 390 in glossop and numerous schools.
We will share the 216 with hyde road from Monday. we have them all now apart from 2 extras in the morning and evening.
We do the 219 after 7pm 168-9 are done by Hyde Road. We do 169 on Sundays. (i would do them everyday nice route)
330 will be done by Ashton although again there will be a few peak time extras in the morning and evening done by stockport.
Anything else feel free to email me. Not a problom.
It is NOT a right-turn only lane at the lights - you can use it to go straight ahead as well. Of course, if someone is turning right then you get struck behind them. Yesterday there was no-one turning right so I went in the right-hand lane, passing around 8 vehicles in the left.
There are long queues here for much of the morning. The traffic lights at the 5-way junction take ages to change.
