New buses

Here is one of the hybrids that First manchester have got. I do like the new silver colour. I'm not sure when they are out in service or what routes they are going on. I'm sure the weekly ticket will increase again to pay for them.

  2. They do look nice though don't they? :>)

Out of interest, how reliable have your hybrids been? We're supposed to be getting a small fleet of hybrids at work in the near future...and it's all new territory!

Have read elsewhere that they are out on the 17/18 routes.

First arn't paying for them, they've been paid for out of a grant from the DfT's Green Bus Fund, the same way Stagecoach's hybrids were paid for.

  8. I saw 31952 on the 59 in shudehill last week, im guessing that a few darts are due to move to Wigan, also relatively heard that First are to take over a few ex. Arriva daytime routes, im still guessing that wigan are due for some extra needs.

  9. 31952 was back on loan to Ashton end of last week along with 31938 4 R-SBA darts are to move to Ashton my guess is 40363/66/68/70 31927/29/43 are to move to Oldham leving Ashton a single deck depot

  10. My guess is that the darts will come along from Bolton. Besides ive read that Wigan are to take over a few ex Arriva daytime duties leaving Wigan with all the buses it needs. The current(R???SBA) darts at Bolton are: 40370/71/72/400/01/02/04/05. 40363/66/68 are Wigan based.

How would Ashton cope with the school services if Ashton were to only be all single deck buses.
Well at least Stagecoach still have double decks.

benzo im told as i told mic all ashtons current schools would transfer to oldham under a new dedicated bus driver unit they will keep 2 deckers for a 348 and 350 for the moss hollins(350) and copley / west hill pupils (348`s) this would increasing dukis depot room in depot / availability for the new contracts won over the summer as at the min it is very crammed at night with all buses in
