Where?

Just spotted this stotts 353 in the bus station. It seems there blind programmer might need a little advice on place names. The front destination was ok but the side is spelt wrong. Unless they have changed it. Been a toughy today with all the new fare changes but it looks like people are taking to it. Most buses are loading quicker than last week although there are a lot of passes that still won't scan. Wonder if they have this problem in london?

  1. The blind is set to work togther with the front blind, its just that the 'E' wont fit on the end of the side display. If Stott's choose to have it scrolling then the whole word would be displayed.

The correct spelling is Carrcote, not Carrcoate. Therefore, if they remove the erroneous "a", the "e" at the end should just fit...

I noticed the T reg Solo on the 354 today as well Mic, might become a regular as Stott's have picked up another tender.

Have they now, any idea which one? They'll get another Solo or two for any new contract, T345 FWR is the dedicated stand-in vehicle now.

  7. They have taken the 154 [Cheetham Hill - Bury] from Bluebird from May 1st.
As far as i know its a 2 bus working so two more Solo's [or larger vehicles] will be acquired.

T345FWR is the official spare vehicle although that may change.

  8. Stotts have had this spelling error on the side blind ever since they took over the 354.

Reminds me of when Dennis's ran an Ashton to Uppermill route (352?) just after de-regulation. The front blind read "Upper Hill".

  9. seems a bit like when the new solo are on the 38/9 ashton - hazelhurst (spelt hazlehurst) but more often than not at night display 39 manchester via tydesley because the drivers dont check the destination properly
