Warming up

Have been doing a survey today in Longsight checking that the 192 is running as well as it should and noticed this come past. It looked in great condition, very well preserved. I assume it had been on a rally somewhere in Manchester. It has been a really nice day today. The warm spell is very welcome especially with the arrival of my new bike. I have opted for a Hybrid this time and I can really tell the difference. We are planning a charity ride in September from Liverpool to Hull so need to use it as much as possible. I decided to get another Scott as I found my last one so reliable.

There seems lots of Hybrids in service on the 219 route now and a whisper has hinted at another 40 but will see if and when they arrive.

Sounds pretty certain to me! Wonder if Stockport might end up with a few of them.

  2. If Stockport got 40 new hybrids surely this time Manchester will have to give up some E400's , better to say though the hybrids are nicer vehicles as I caught 12116 on the 219

Heard that Stagecoach are taking over the 342/344 (Backbower routes) and Stagecoach will lose the 202 to High Peak (ex bowers)
does anyone know about 22158 which has been up in Ashton most recently?

40001/40312/are the current Pioneer vehicles off the road at the Moment - 40366 back in service but failed MOT before hand

  3. I thought the 342/4 would be done by Ashton.
The 202/341 service still hasn't been confirmed although the Sunday 202 will continue to be run by Stagecoach so would be interesting if it stays as an AZ service as they will require 2 Darts permanently.

The Glossop school services Stagecoach are currently doing pass to Smiths of Marple either this or next week so the Magic Olympians will be returning to Sharston/Hyde rd

  4. I think you're right about the bus rally, cos I saw a similar GM liveried bus near Shudehill recently too. The only difference was the one I saw wasn't the topless model ;-) It's good to see the old chariots being looked after so well ...lol..

  5. It was the Spring Festival at the museum this weekend, Stagecoach were good enough to send one of the new Hybrids and one of the ex London Tridents.
22158 was still at AZ on Friday.

With AZ gaining the 342/4 and also the Sunday 202 (which is a 2 bus working) does that mean a second Solo will be allocated to Ashton?

Maybe the open top bus was getting rid of the cobwebs ready for the victory parade for the 2011-12 Premiership Champions. Whether it's the red or blue team taking the ride remains to be seen...............

  7. Think the blue side may have blown their chances over the weekend :)
