I hope we follow suit. This sign is on the first bus i just got on. Stupid idea giving pensioners tickets when they have a free pass. I know it's the pte that specified this action of giving tickets but how are first stopping it and we are not! This is from 30th august.
Some drivers just wave you on and others get shirty if you don't wait for the ticket.
ReplyDeleteI kind of assumed the ticket was issued as a way of monitoring how many passengers had been on but it does seem a lot of unnecessary paper and issuing them does delay the boarding.
When I was in Blackpool last year I noticed that there the drivers insisted on knowing your destination stop whilst here they just but the terminus on the ticket.
You only need a ticket if you are doing a transfer.
ReplyDeleteI know that Bluebird have the same machines as First do and they have been registering free passes without issuing tickets for quite a while now
ReplyDeleteIts very time consuming especially on busy routes like the 330 where 80% of the daytime passengers are pensioners going to Hyde. We have enough to look out for without having people dithering waiting for a ticket thats pointlss.
